Join us for an evening to share thoughts and memories of our icon Kate Millett, who died in Paris on September 6 at 3 a.m. As a member of Kate and spouse Sophie's inner circle, author Pamela Ellen Ferguson has offered to chair the event.
Kate Millett, dubbed "the high priestess" of second-wave feminism by the New York Times, was an activist, public intellectual, and prolific writer. She is the author of the watershed feminist text Sexual Politics (1970), as well as memoirs that deconstruct the oppression of queer, mentally ill, and elderly populations. The impact of her work on the women's liberation movement cannot be overstated.
